Cookie Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This page explains how PowerTool Safe uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. It is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms and Conditions.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your browser. Cookies let a site remember things about your visit — such as whether you are signed in, your preferences, or aggregated information about how you use the site.

How we use cookies

We group the cookies we use into two categories: strictly necessary cookies that the application needs to function, and analytics and marketing cookies that only run after you accept them in our cookie banner.

Strictly necessary cookies (always on)

These cookies are required for the site to work. They do not track you across other websites and cannot be turned off through the banner.

  • Session cookie (laravel_session or similar) — keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Expires when your session ends.
  • CSRF token (XSRF-TOKEN) — protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
  • Remember-me cookie — set only if you choose "Remember me" at sign-in, so you stay logged in on return visits.
  • Cookie consent record (cookieconsent_status) — remembers your choice from the cookie banner so we do not ask again on every page.

Analytics and marketing cookies (off until you accept)

These cookies are denied by default. They only run after you click Accept on the cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time (see "Withdrawing consent" below). We use Google's Consent Mode v2 so that no analytics or advertising tags fire while consent is denied.

  • Google Analytics 4 — measures how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on page, general location, device type) so we can improve it. Data is processed by Google. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Google Tag Manager — the container that loads the analytics and marketing tags above. Tag Manager itself does not set tracking cookies; it only loads the tags you have allowed.
  • TikTok Pixel — measures the effectiveness of advertising on TikTok and helps us reach people who have shown interest in PowerTool Safe. Data is processed by TikTok. See TikTok's privacy policy.

Your choices

When you first visit the site you will see a cookie banner with two options:

  • Accept — turns on analytics and marketing cookies.
  • Decline — keeps them off. The site works normally either way.

Withdrawing or changing consent

You can change your choice at any time by clearing the cookieconsent_status cookie in your browser settings; the banner will reappear on your next visit and you can pick again.

Browser controls

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Doing so may sign you out and reset your preferences, but the site will continue to work.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because our analytics and marketing cookies are off by default and only enabled with your explicit consent, our behavior already matches what these signals ask for.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

The TikTok Pixel may involve sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. Declining the cookie banner — or never accepting it — opts you out of that sharing. If you have additional requests, please contact us via the Contact page.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the site evolves or as the tools we use change. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision.
